For many years I have been using an obsolete or no longer wanted computer as a development system for a local home page and the creation of several websites before putting them out on my shared host to go public.  Some people would call this a Homelab.

The local home page is simply a one page WordPress website running on CentOS.  It is a collection of links to various websites that are used often by anyone on the home network.  I had been using KLOXO as a website management tool, but needed to replacei  it.   My son had been trying to get me to look at virtualization.  I acquired a Dell Precision Workstation and loaded it with Windows 10 and VMware Workstation 16 Player.  This has worked very well for website development

The purpose of this website is to provide accurate documentation and resources for use in the deployment of operating systems and content management systems on the local server.  I tested multiple Linux operating systems including CentOS 7, Oracle Linux 8.5, Rocky Linux, AlmaLinux and Springdale Linux.  CentOS 7 and Oracle Linux 8.5 have been the most reliable with no additional modifications after installing WordPress.

I searched the web for tutorials for installing these operating systems and everything else that is needed to have a stable installation of WordPress, my favored CMS.  Everything I tried fell short of working perfectly every time.  I wanted something that if you followed the instructions, everything would work without having to make several modifications after the fact.  That is the purpose of these tutorials.  They work for me and I hope they work for you.
